Roll Over & Float

Why Roll Over and Float?

The cornerstone of the SwimAmerica program is our “Roll Over and Float” safety skill. In order to survive a water emergency, a child needs to be on top of the water with his/her mouth and nose cleared to breath. That is why during every swim lesson, SwimAmerica coaches teach students to roll over, float on their backs and yell for help. By practicing this life saving skill a child in water emergency does not have to think, but rather reacts instinctively to save his/her own life.
