RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Business & Manufacturing Programs




This position is responsible to develop, organize and administer classes and training for WD HVAC program and apprenticeships as well as supporting the manager in various administrative duties. This position will work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors with the need to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.



  • Research new class offerings in HVAC program and apprenticeships.
  • Coordinate all activities in developing and offering the class to include ordering/creating curriculum, coordinating the instructor pool, marketing the class to the community and scheduling and registering students.
  • Evaluate new instructors and their teaching methods to ensure quality instruction.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure classes run smoothly
  • Train instructors on the use of online course tools.
  • Administrative duties to include ordering textbooks, supplies and software and various duties to support the manager and technology and business solutions team.
  • Instructs assigned classes in accordance with established standards and competencies for the HVAC profession, through planning, preparation, and implementation of effective lessons that relate to the course objectives and can be evaluated by Outcomes Assessments.
  • Provide student support in creating a successful teaching and learning environment for students to achieve their educational goals and priorities.
  • Administrate the online courses
  • Responsible for budget development, monitoring, and administration in the HVAC program area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • Journeyman HVAC technician with at least 5 years related practical work experience in residential and commercial HVAC systems working as a journeyman HVAC technician.
  • Marketing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply college and department policies and standards to resolve a variety of issues.
  • A technical certificate or degree (must be EPA certified)
  • Previous teaching experience highly desired
  • Superior language ability/interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid logic/reasoning ability and organizational skills
  • Conveys by words and action the values expected by CWI
  • Instructs and evaluates students in area of specialty using approved materials
  • Prepares lesson plans and syllabi using industry-standard approaches (e.g., multimedia, adult learning methodology)
  • Implements and adheres to all school policies and procedures and to state and federal laws
  • Instructs and evaluates students using management approved materials
  • Manages and tracks student attrition, attendance and grades
  • Researches and implements technological changes
  • Participates in various administrative activities (e.g., attends teacher/staff meetings or in-service meetings)
  • Communicates all relevant information to students as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Salary Range
$40,400 – $50,500 per year
