Job Summary & Overview – Manufacturing Technician I
Technician will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of ASU’s night vision devices, night vision filters and other assembly activities.
For night vision device assembly the use and maintenance of calibrated hand tools, soldering tools and electronic testing equipment will be used.
The use of waterjet, laser, CNC milling devices will be employed to cut various glass & poly-composition materials.
Flexibility to work a sliding and/or split shift based on production demands.
Operate machinery such as waterjet, laser, ssmall-scale CNC mills, 3D printers, hones, drill presses, as well as prime & paint finishing, solder stations and test equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to all specification control drawings/blueprints and combined work instructions.
Presents a strong initiative to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Maintains high degree of focus and attention to detail.

Ability to take direction, and work well both independently without supervision, and as part of a small cohesive team.
Ability to prioritize and manage daily/weekly scheduled production slate.

Conduct annual physical inventory as well as periodic cycle counts of raw materials used for manufacture.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve in an autonomous manufacturing environment.
Versed in the use of calipers, micrometers and other handheld measurement devices used for parts inspection to verify specification conformance.
Utilizes safe practices and adheres to all established safety guidelines.
Performs all routine maintenance and scheduled calibrations on all equipment as required.

High school or equivalent (required)
Basic math and computer skills (required)
Technical degree or equivalent (preferred)
3 year component assembly experience (preferred)
IPC J-STD-001 certification (preferred)
Knowledge of Fusion 360 (preferred)
Compensation: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
